Tata Indicom Broadband - Infinity 512 Postpaid - Excess billing

Firstly This plan is supposed to be a post-paid plan but thats a LIE. Its actually a prepaid plan. So in a sense all plans at Tata Indicom Boradband are prepaid plans!! DO NOT buy any postpaid plans from them!! All post-paid plans are in essense Prepaid. 

I paid 6620 in advance for 4 months of rental. At the end of 3 month I was sent a bill of 1800 rupees. On calling the help-desk I was told that the 1 month is taken as advance rental and will be "adjusted" at the time of disconnection. On being asked if I disconnect the connection today, will the remaining amount be returned to me. The answer was NO. The amount will only be "adjusted". On asking him to clarify on what adjusted means, he asked me to write a e-mail to the customer support for clarifications. Needless to say, God only know when e-mails will be replied to.

Since the last date for payment at any time is 15 days after the bill is generated, you will never be able to make use of internet equal to the amount of money that you have paid. Thats pretty cool for Tata’s point of view. They are actually running the business on stolen money. Stolen because you never agreed to pre-pay.


The speed is supposed to be 512 kbps, but at any given point of time the download speed hovers about 50 kbps only.


The connectivity is really unreliable. It goes down many times a day and the common refrain from the customer support is that the "server is down". This is a NO GO for those running SOHOs. 


The customer help desk is actually very unhelpful. Firstly it takes many calls to even get through to the billing department. Actually I realized that their work timings might be different from normal human beings. They are unreachable before 11 AM, and after 4:30 PM.

Go for it only at your own peril.

Summary: Postpaid is actually prepaid, Lost money on services not used, Lousy Connectivity, lousy speed, not suitable for self employed, SOHO.</description>

		<description>Same kind of incident happened with me also. I used my ATM for the first time. My son was with me inside the ATM to show how to withdraw money from the ATM. First he withdrew Rs.1000 rupees to show the process. Then I withdrew Rs.100 to check if I am able to withdraw. We collected the money and left the ATM. After 3 month when I updated my passbook, I was astonished realizing that Rs 20000 was missing and the the transaction was made just after 1minute of the withdrawal of Rs. 100.  How is this possible ?? We have given an application but the bank authority says that we have withdrew the money, otherwise it is impossible.</description>

		<description>I have a savings account in State Bank of India.
One month back, I went to SBI ATM and tried to withdraw Rs. 15000. There was some problem in the machine so I could not withdraw. Then I went to another ATM and and withdrawn 15000. On checking the balance, I saw that Rs.20, 000 had been deducted from my account before itself. I have put many complaints. But, the bank says that they dont have any log for that. According to their log, we had withdrawn 20000 from ATM and on checking found that the money withdrawl is shown from that ATM which was not working and on the same day and time when I tried to withdraw and the machine was not working. I have been complaining that at that time there was some problem in the machine and I could not withdraw. The bank manager says that there might be some technical problem and the bank cannot do anything in such technical faults. This is the responsibility they show. I have lost 20000 rupees and they say that they dont have any resposibility. I had opened account in SBI and transferred all my amount there thinking that it is a government bank and is secure. But I was wrong. I have lost 20000 rupees. I tried to explain many times that in my transaction I had tried to withdraw 15000, but due to problem in machine, it could not be withdrawn, but the amount deducted from my account is 20000. I have tried to explain many times that first of all, money was not withdrwan. Secondly, 20000 was deducted from my account and not 15000. That means, might be somebody else's transaction have been deducted from my account. But, they are not checking anything. They say in these kind of technical faults, they dont have any responsibility. Now one month is over that the incident took place and the only response that I have got from the local SBI branch is that in these kind of technical faults in machines, there is nothing that they can do.
Neither was any video camera installed there nor was there any security guard.

Please publish this incident in newspaper so that maximum people can read this and innocent public will become aware and will be alert. They will come to know about the truth and responsibilty that the reputed bank like STATE BANK OF INDIA bank shows towards its customers. It might also be helpful for me in getting a proper response from the bank.

Sir/madam, 

  

This is with reference to my Vodafone Mobile No 09999930306, I had purchased on the 15th of April 2007 for a price of Rs 2100/-. According the Plan I was offerred the following tariff: 

  

V2V - 50 p 

V2O – Re 1 

STD – Rs 1.50 

  

Recently I went to a Vodafone Store wherein I was given a “THANK YOU CARD”, free of cost as a special  gift stating that it will add to the benefits of my plan. 

  

After I dialed to avail of the benefit of the Special Gift to my utter surprise instead of giving benefit, I was penalized and without my acceptance my local call rates were increased as follows: 

  

V2V - Re 1 

V2O – Re 1 

STD – Re 1 

  

I constantly called Vodaphone office from the 16th March asking for a  justification and reason for the change in call rates without my prior knowledge, I was asked to call the next day so that their accounts are updated. On the next day none of the executives were able to find the actual reason for this change of Plan. On the 18th I was suggested to go to a vodafone store at Preet Vihar. On my visit there, after waiting for almost an hour, I was informed that my query would be resolved within 24 hours. After waiting for the stipulated time, I received no response from their end so I called the customer care. I had a word with the floor supervisor Mr Rajinder who informed me that the revised call rates were due to recharging with the Thank You card. When I informed him that I am a local Student and do not make STD Calls his behaviour was very Rude and Shocking and he disconnected the Phone by saying that recharging with the Tahnkyou Card was my fault. 

  

I feel I have been Cheated By offering a Thankyou Card as there was no written or verbal warning on the Thank you card which has not only put me to Financial Loss but also Mental harassment as being a student and my Examination are due I can not afford the present Call rates. Because of the Call rates I had Spent Rs 2100/- initially to accept this Scheme. 

  

As such type of behaviour is not Expacted from a Multi National Company Like VodfoneI, I request you to revert Back my Orignal Plan and Call rates without Delay which were prevailing prior to offering Thankyou Card and the necessary compensation henceafter.

 ......i was subscriber of reliance internet services until aug2008.........my actual bill in which i used the internet should be 

around 1100 rs ....but they have charged me for unused internet also .....and the amt is around 2075.....i have called the helpline 

several times ....but they use to say that i have used the internet ...i asked them to charge me the rent but why r they charging 

me the internet use charge where as there as no supply of internet from there side ...and now they have send me a legal notice 

through an advocate to pay  abill of 2076 rs ....in which i have to only pay 1100 that means i have to pay 1000 extra ....... iam 

really disappointed with way they are torturing me ...and iam launching this complaint in times of india news service.... i hope 

that this will work for me ...i never expected this from reliance ..they claim that they are very customer freindly ,,,but they are 

not..they are eating people and there money ...... i wish that these mail is published so that other people can have  a lesson form 

it ...really reliance is so bad
